Assemble at the Picnic Area at 2pm. Walkers will follow the Turitea Stream through to Ngahere Park Road and then back (2.8km return). This is an easy walk along a clear track with no rises or stream crossings. Some fine emerging native bush and resident birds can be viewed on route, along with pleasant vistas of the stream. Guides from Green Corridors will accompany walkers and will give information on Green Corridors planting policies, the types of plants, birdlife and native fish to be seen, etc. Electrofishing demos will be given at 2.30pm and 3.30pm (precise location to be determined depending on conditions on the day). Parking will be signposted at the Picnic Area, reached by driving up Turitea Valley Road to about a kilometre past the Ngahere Park Road turn-off.
