Regretfully, due to bad weather creating risks not worth taking, the EnviroTour field trip to Foxton has had to be postponed.
Walk the Piriharakeke Walkway, visit Wildlife Foxton Trust Centre for a BBQ lunch, ride a boat through Foxton Loop, and view godwits and other shorebirds at an internationally-recognised estuary. Don’t miss the one-off opportunity for a guided introduction to the environment and heritage of our Manawatu River as it flows out to the sea. Even those familiar with the area will learn something new about the region’s history and ecology.
A reasonable level of fitness is required. Please note this trip is not suitable for small children.
The bus will depart from the Palmerston North i-SITE at 10am sharp and return around 5.45pm.
Cost is $20 with the BBQ lunch and afternoon tea provided. Registrations close midday Tuesday October 4th. We strongly recommend you register early, as places are strictly limited.
If the trip needs to be postponed due to bad weather participants will be advised by email and by a notice on ENM’s events page (link – http://enm.org.nz/event/biodiversity-feild-trip?eID=765). Any postponement will be advised by morning of Friday October 7th.
