The greenhouse effect, that leads to global warming and climate change, was discovered in the 19th century, and today it is beginning to bite. Like many other countries, New Zealand has pledged to drastically reduce our emissions. This will take concerted action by individuals and by local and central government. What can we do? This talk will cover some of the latest developments in climate change and climate science and lead into a discussion of easy ways in which all of us can cut our carbon emissions – in many cases quite quickly and deeply – at home and at work. Our speaker is Robert McLachlan, a professor at Massey University.
